Anyone ever hear of a pipe called 'Adventurer"? It  says The same thing as  the Grabow Ajustomatic pipes and even uses the same style of script and has the Grabow patent number on it, I think I ran this one by RJ way back when but at the time he could nor tell me anything about it. I was digging through my Grabow project box tonight and dug this one out. Thought someone may have heard of it. Pic is not real good,my camera took a dump and I have borrowed one till our new one gets in.Could this be one of those "private label" pipes?

OS...The stamping is Grabow, the aluminum is Grabow. If it is adjustomatic, then it has the same construction as a Regal. This is stuff you already knew.

Where it came from?...when it was made? I haven't a clue.  You'd think that sometime I would have, at least, heard of it.

If all else fails, I have a friend, Luther Marlow, that started working at the factory in 1946. We'll ask him.

Thanks Ted ! This pipe just shouts Grabow!! Maybe your friend can tell us more. Is the Regal the only Grabow line to use that wide aluminum shank extension?

If I had looked closer at some of the other pipes in that box I would not have had to ask about that shank extension! Found 2 Starfires that have long aluminum shank extensions.

OS..I started to respond this morning but a haircut got in the way. Regal and Silver Duke had the 30 series aluminum. Eldorado, Viscount, Starfire, Golden Duke had the 40 series aluminum available..a little wider.

This is just a guess on my part, but I suspect that Adventurer was more likely a special offer coupon pipe than a private label made for a retail tobacconist.

Were there ever prototypes that wnet to management for review?

Its hard to read the stamp. Was there an XXX?

Agreed, it looks Grabow. Perhaps its a second cousin to my "Ranger"
