This pipe is some what of a mystery to me. I say this because of the stem and the markings. It is stamped only Dr. Grabow over Imported briar on left side. The stem has the one piece -non removable-type cleaner and a crudely done spade on top of the stem. Don't know what the stem is made from-it ain't vulcanite.Feels and works more like the Medico nylon stems than anything. I think someone has re-stemmed this pipe using the original cleaner and inlaying a spade. I have re-finished the bowl and stained it standard brown Walnut if I remember correctly. It does have a small charred area on the rim. Looking to trade for a decent Golden Duke in a shape I don't have. Light to moderate tooth marks OK. Prefer smooth pipes and vulcanite stems.

Looks original to me, OZ. Chicago's spade emblems weren't always as slick at Sparta's. Are you looking for an old beat up LARK?

Could be Dave,it just doesn't seem kosher! Actually as far as Larks I have two pretty nice ones that I'm gonna put up for sale with some painted pipes and a Commodore.

Neat pipe. Too bad I don't have a Golden Duke.

ED....I don't really need the pipe even though it's a part of my past, but if you need a Golden Duke, I'll get one for you at the factory. Just tell me what shape you want, and if they have it.....it's yours.

Might give me the top 2 or 3 shapes/finishes so I can have a bit of leeway.

I have to go to the factory on Monday or Tuesday for RJ anyway.

Let me know if you'd like one.....................

By the way, Dr. B, I'll ask about ANY #81's they have left over from anything.....ted

ted, I'm good for any #81's you turn up (within reason). Let's agree not to exceed 5 units. Wink

Did I say it would be free????.....ted

I'll add that the Mastercraft you are sending me is worth a lot more than I sent you....therefore......a Golden Duke is "on me".
