Has anyone else purchase New, off the shelf Grabow pipes, cleaners, or filters that are from the Lane era which indicates 2006 prior.
It disheartens me a little to think these thins have sat on the shelves for two years but I suppose the possibility, and reality exists that IP&A was using Lane stock and Packaging until it ran out.
I'd like to also think the these things haven't been sitting on the shelves for 2+ years and I'm the only one buying it.
Can't be,
T

| SIR DUKE...The only speculation I have is from the old days. "Work in process" when IP&A bought Lane would have been significant. You gotta finish them....What do you sell them as? Make up a line and sell em' all as seconds? I think not. Make up a line, and sell them for $33.95. Even from the 60's a five year shelf life on un-impressive shapes is not unusual. |

Problem is, these days all the old pipers are dying off, and the young generation in the cities anyway, think smoking a pipe is square, uncool, or only for "Old Fogies".
Since they took the tobacco isle out of stores like CVS ect, the demand has dropped. I know of one "Old School" pipe/tobacco shop in the center of town who still sells, Grabows, Kaywoodies, Medicos, and Yello-Boles. I'll say, If I can't get a Grabow, I'll go with a Woody over Medicos and Yello-Boles anyday! The nice Kaywoodies start at $25.00 aka the "Super Grain". The nicer models are in the $35.00 to $45.00 range. I could get a nice Grabow for $21.00! _________________ God Wants Spiritual Fruit, Not Religious Nuts! |

Seesm like a shop worth patronizing GrabowGuy. Finding a tobacco shop that carries Grabows seems eve harder than finding a pharmacy that does. They think they are "above" them. I wish more people would appreciuate the grabows. I've rarely had a bad experince, if ever....
And wheter "resmoked," or "precarbed" they really dont need braking in.
