A few DGCF oddities you might encounter are originally compiled (like so much compost) by drbridges:

Garbo developed as an kind of joke and short-hand reference to Dr. Grabow. It originated from one of the common misspellings used by eBay sellers.
Garbo does seem easier on the keyboard strokes than Grabow.
DGCF Dr. Grabow Collector's Forum. Apostrophe optional.
tampon refers to the paper filter used by Medico and Dr. Grabow Duke.
vps refers to a push stem joint. Stands for vulcanite push stem. Mostly used when describing Dr. Crapo and Riviera pipes.
Dr. Crapo is a vps pipe produced with the original Dr. Grabow model lines (Special, Deluxe), but using different shapes. It may represent a vague transition between M. Linkman of Chicago and Sparta Pipes of NC.
ajusto refers to an ajustomatic stem joint.
cleaner refers to the aluminum metal insert filter used in Dr. Crebow Ajustomatic and VPS pipes.
dux is the collective term for tampon Dr. Garblew Duke pipes (Little, Grand, Crown, Royal, Silver, and Golden). This also originated from a common eBay misspelling. aka "Duck"
DGT Delayed gratification Technique. On most forums meaning purposely lighting and partially smoking a bowl, usually of a flake and or Va. Here, more likely meaning: I lit the bowl, set it down, forgot where you put it, found and and am now smoking it "God knows how long" after the charring light. Usually a Codger Burley.
DMT Dead man's tobacco found in an "estate" pipe. Smoke 'em if you got 'em. ________ did! (no names mentioned.)
TAD Tobacco Aquisition Disorder. Often leads to what nobler forums call "cellaring" but what we here call hoarding!
GAD Garbo aquisition disorder. In the realworld known as PAD: Pipe Aquisition Disorder. At times, an uncontrollable urge.
EGAD An all encompassing term that might mean EXTREME GARBO AQUSITION DISORDER (usually affecting newbies like Sir Duke), an exclaimation of surprise or stupifiction; an alternative Banjo tuning (assuming on can actually tune a banjo!)
DVSC Damned Vogel Straw Contraption - a somewhat pejorative term for Linkman's Hollycourt. Based on the aluminum tube airway designed by A. L. Vogel in 1933. US Pat. #2,073,663.
MST or AST Metal Sleeve Tampon or Aluminum Sleeve Tampon - refers to the stem joint used throughout many of the Dux (excluding the ajusto tampon joints) and all current Dr. Grabow pipes.
BRMPSC Luther Marlow's Blue Ridge Mountain Pipe Smokers Collection

I had thought of adding ASS for Ajustomatic Screw Stem, but then decided perhaps I should work on that one some more . . .  --RJ--
