Addition to Pipe LibraryI received the latest addition to my pipe library Monday and it has been a joy to look at and read. “Museum of Tobacco Art and History Guide Book” by Ben Rapaport
Ben wrote the text and the museum’s staff and other photographers did the photos and their captions. There are several caption errors as far as their provenance goes but still some beautiful pipes from the Ancient Americans to fairly recent pipes. Pipes of all materials are covered in this guide book; along with pipe accessories such as, pipe cases, flintlock lighters, tobacco jars and tins, pipe racks/holders. Since the museum is about antiquarian tobacciana it also has chew, snuff and cigars and accessories. And also, art depicting all of the above usages which includes smoking jackets, some being made from cigar ribbons, and hats. All in all, I would certainly recommend this book for your library.
