C'mon guys, at least they have it up and running. Btw, contact email bounces back on me. Maybe by this time next year, it will be content rich and so busy we will not be able to access the site during peak hours.

At least it's up, and does show some potential....I'm glad for that.

I filled out the registration information and got an automated response to my e-mail address, so something is working. Just have to see what, if any, information I get back.

I tole y'all the web site was comin' soon! I tole y'all it was comin'! Real soon.
Hopefully, DG will figure out a way to offer some direct sales through this web site, or through the mailing list it generates for them. Some of the DG retail customers might fear DG will be competing against them, but if DG limits its sales to products none of its retailers currently offer, it shouldn't be an obstacle.
DG let the big box retailers sell your G-DUKE and SAVOY, which is about all they carry, and sell directly your higher end products like the OMEGA, ROYALTON, and FREEHAND. We can't get those from any big box retailer now.
This would also be a great time to reintroduce the DG COLLECTOR Series. Mine from 2003 is a great pipe.

I like to see them bring back the ajustomatic vulcanite stems!! ABS is just to soft for me!!

Oz, have you considered having your teeth pulled? I understand that is popular in the Ozarks. Those ABS stems might feel about right gripped between gums.

I wish there would be a little description of the different lines.
Overall, I thought a nicely done website.

DG doesn't even attempt to explain their various pipe lines.
I loved Sears' old use of Good Better Best.

I agree! I think it is a good START and I look forward to seeing what they add. Hope this really takes off for them.
I guess if their packaging starts including the web site address, we can "date" those at least! --RJ--

I talked with Rick Wooten today at the golf course. I bragged on the website. Really should have after asking him about it so many times.
I suggested that he look through the old inventory and find some things , in sufficient numbers, to post as specials. He said he had been doing that most of the day. He mentioned some push-bit, non-filtered,(not by name) that he had found.
He also suprised me....you guys must have been busy.....He said that I would be surprised by how many responses they had already gotten. I will suggest to members here....If you haven't signed up for the specials, please do. The more responses they get, the quicker (maybe) we will have Grabow's to pick from.

This may be a little of topic but, I picked up a new pipe yesterday, a very nice looking Dr. G Smooth Full Bent. I don't see the Full Bent Pipe listed in the product line on website are they not making it anymore or was it just an omission on the website? I love this Full Bent! While it is early and still in the break in stages, it is a way better smoking pipe than either of my Grand Dukes.

The DG FULL BENT was my first DG pipe, & I fell for it immediately. The #37 & the even smaller #67 may not be for everyone, but I often prefer them for a short pleasant smoke. And the cute little things are so easily portable.
I believe the current SAVOY is the same pipe.

I wonder if the shapes shown in the various lines will be the only shapes available. For instance, the Golden Duke, they show two billiards. I want a Golden Duke Bent Bulldog! Not a Royal, although I'd take one of those also!! Hey Ted,did you by chance mention Vulcanite to Mr. Wooten?

The DG web site isn't becoming what it could be. I am concerned that no one with DG is administering the site, instead they are depending on the outside web page design people for that.
DG is hosting an "open house" in July, and it isn't included on the DG web page.
The DG Specials is still empty. What a missed opportunity! So sad.

I agree Dave, makes you wonder why they even bothered!!

I sent an e-mail to Jim Burns suggesting that very thing. He wrote back and said he was in New Zealand, but he would forward my e-mail to Rick Wooten. I'm still waiting to hear from him. I agree, it's a shame about how the web page is just sitting there.

Seems like the web site needs an "in-house" webmaster with hands on experience with the plant and head office. Someone who knows sales and intimately knows the product and the potential customers. Yes, the "open house" SHOULD DEFINATELY BE ON THERE! Heck, if they just used the old photos and some of the old info from the RJR pamphlets for a start they'd be way along the road to making a better site. --RJ--
