Ed's pipes

I'm sitting here at my desk, in front of my computer, working on some shape charts. I look around and decide I want to have a fresh smoke in a clean pipe. Having a bit of difficaulty deciding which to smoke. I spy the three pipes I acquired from Ed. I said I wasn't going to smoke them, too pretty, but I've already lit up the Adjustomatic. I've got my eye on that Brown Duke. The one in the middle.
I gently pack some PA into the bowl and strike a match..... this pipe is smooth as silk. The bowl and stem are highly polished. The feel of this pipe in my hand is noticeably different from any other pipe I own. I am reminded of what it was like to smoke my Savinelli Virginia after a few years of smoking nothing but Yellow boles and Medicos when I first got started on the pipe 34 years ago.
This is the best smoke I have had in years. This is better than that Savinelli.
It is all about the fit and finish and perhaps the labor that went into making this pipe what it is.
Thank you Ed. I'm looking forward to acquiring more from your hand.
For any of you who have not had the pleasure of holding and smoking a pipe that has passed through the hands of OS, you just don't know what you are missing.

Once I was beginning to feel "under the weather," and I smoked one of the pipes I have from Oz. Suddenly, my sinuses cleared. The soreness in my throat and my fever went away. I felt dramatically better.
And for some inexplicable reason I was able to recall "Thanatopsis" by William Cullen Bryant, which I never read.
"To him who in the love of Nature holds communion with her visible forms, she speaks a various language; for his gayer hours she has a voice of gladness, and a smile and eloquence of beauty, and she glides into his darker musings, with a mild and healing sympathy, that steals away their sharpness, ere he is aware."
They are GOOD pipes!

I concur! Smoked some PA in an 'OZ' pipe this afternoon! Too bad I may have been the cause of him to quit selling on Ebay..I snagged it for $0.99!LOL.

Recalled-but never read ? How come they don't work like that for me?
What's a "Thanatopsis"??

99¢....good for you Duke!...Ed, that just sucks. your pipes are good enough to demand a reserve. Heck, forget ebay, just send them my way. It'll take a year or two for the OL to figure out what I'm doing.

You are welcome Sir, I mean every word.
My brother-in-law quit the pipe a few years back, when he sees these, he's going to get curious. When he holds one, he'll be asking for a light.
From now on, when I buy a new pipe, I'm going to have them shipped to you so you can 'touch' them!

Sorry Brother! I keep watching for any pipes you may put up so I can get into a bidding war!
Also, alway's looking to build the cellar so I'd take that 10lbs! May come in handy once the smoking nazi's have their way!
But knowing your love for it (you have 10lbs) I know you really would'nt really part with it!

I have not put anything on Ebay in 3-4 months. Just a general dissatisfaction with ebay. The fees,feedback changes etc just turned me off as far as selling there. When I have a few bucks I do look for pipes to buy though.Lately,have only been posting stuff here or SF,and PSF.
I don't have 10 LBS of 79-don't have any as I burned what I had !!But I may just scrounge it up for you!! And a beat up old Lark too!!
