Finally got a CanadianI've always appreciated the canadian shape by most any maker, but after spending time with you lugs, I decided I needed a Grabow in that shape. So this is what I wound up with: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI....RK:MEWNX:IT&item=200343399362. I got it in Friday and it's a darn good shape. Looks like all it needs is a little sanitizing and it should be good to go.
Now to decide what to smoke in it...........

Looks like a good score, Wes. Viscount's are in the upper end of the Grabow range. Ted, RJ, or Dr B can tell you more about it. I have a boxed set of 5 Viscounts that smoke great. Enjoy.

Wonderful old pipe Wes. Think you will really like it. Will be curious if it has the 84L shape number stamped on it. I can date it better if I know. Regardless, wonderful purchase...ted

Wes
That is a great looking Grabow; wish I still had my Canadian.

Wesley, looks good, congrats, I know you'll enjoy it. For some reason, I tend to smoke the stronger tobaccos in my 84's and 84L's. Not sure why, just seems appropriate. I have an Eldorado blast finish one that goes great with Brown No. 4.

Thanks guys! Ted, it doesn't have a shape number stamped on it just VISCOUNT over Dr. Grabow over IMPORTED BRIAR.
Steve, I'm still trying to decide what to smoke in it for it's maiden (with me) voyage. For some reason I've been leaning towards Cube Cut Burley.

Wes, Probably late 70's to early 80's.
It ought to be a great smoke regardless of your choice of tobacco. Steve knows.....ted

Thanks Ted! I hope to fire it up on the back porch tonight if it's not too hot out. I'm glad to finally add a Grabow canadian to the rack.

Great looking pipe! Almost looks like something out of OZ's collection of fine pipes.
Don'tt know why, but Canadian's always seem to give a better smoke -- maybe it's all that wood in the shank. Whatever it is, they seem to smoke all sorts of different tobaccos BETTER! --RJ--
