Don't take this too seriously because I still consider myself a newbie but back in May I bought a tin of this and really enjoyed the first 5 or 6 bowls. It smells great in the tin and has a sweet whiskey or brandy smell. I got tired of it tho and it's a bear to keep lit. It's a cube cut burley like Crooner, but it it really left behind a tar like goop in my pipe after smoking through a whole tin. I had been told to let it dry a bit and even after doing so it was still hard to keep lit.

The taste was kind of chocolate mixed with nuts.

Gilly, how long did you let it dry? Sometimes it takes a couple of days or even a week or more, depending on the blend. I've had some pretty wet Pease stuff too, though haven't tried Barbary Coast. Which is kind of odd, since C&D makes Pease's stuff, and their tins are usually more on the dry side, in my experience.

I just ordered some more of this last week. God I missed it after trying every OTC burley blend, and some of the C and D burley blends I really think this is what I was looking for all along.

I'd recommend it to all you guys.

Gilly, thanks for mentioning this blend. I have not tried it but I will now keep a lookout for a tin. Tobaccoreviews.com shows a lot of four-star reviews, so I'm anxious to try it.

I will say that I have been disappointed by several Pease blends, most notably Haddo's Delight and Maltese Falcon. But I've had some great stuff from him too, like Caravan, Key Largo and Embarcadero, so I'll keep trying.

May have to try this also. Out of the Pease blend's I REALLY like Charring Cross. Most call it a Latakia bomb on Tobacco Review's.LOL!

Unfortunately it's so damn expensive. I bought the 16oz tin this time so I think in the long run that may be the better way to go.

I'm sure results will vary but BC is the first blend I've smoked where I've smelled the unlit tobacco and actually got the same aroma and taste after lighting up.
