I would not classify myself as a Dr. "G" collector but I do have one and it smokes just fine. I feed it burley and it rewards me with a good puff. I don't believe a good puffer has to drain your bank account.

I came by my Dr. "G" in a Walmart. I went in for sum-o-dat fine Prince Albert and saw a card with three or four on it. I went to check them out and got yelled at by the clerk. They don't know nuttin' bout pipe selection. Anyway I made my choice, got my PA and even had change from a twenty. Man, some days life kicks you in the can and other days it misses. Life missed on that day.

Later I got home, and tore open my Dr. "G" and noted it seemed a little beefy on the bit and was only half coated, well more like real thin and spotty on the back half of the chamber. Regardless, it is only wood, and I topped it off with PA and set fire to it. Oh the thrill of it all, decent smoker and change back. Yes, today life missed my can.

Now I am not going to try to convince you gents that this Dr. "G" is my best smoker as I am sure you are already aware there are none better Cool

I usually haunt my-pipes.com but thought I would drop a line to this forum because I would like for you gents to at least know who may be lurking about and just in case I can't keep my big mouth shut.

Why'd they get mad at you? they dont move many pipes at Rite-aid either. The ones I have picked up have all been from the Lane Era and I am trying to empty the pegs to see if they'll be restocked (with more pipes).

BTW your description of me smoking on a pipe like a weasel suckin' egg is just plain funny! It has seem to stuck with me here, and I havent changed a bit cept now I puff harder because I can.. the filter and all.

Welcome and thanks for siging up to what RJ calls the non existing coterie of Grabow collector. I suggest you march right on down to Wally world an by another one and make yourself official because with only one, your skating on thin ice!

Possibly it being my first Dr. “G” purchase I must have been unfamiliar with the proper etiquette of buying a drug store pipe. Pretty stupid of me, I suppose I was just to ask and let her decide. Instead I went behind the counter to actually see the pipe as the card was placed sideways like a book. So I was sternly told “You are not allowed there and they are all the same price.” Imagine such ignorance as to want to actually see the pipe. Likely that is the reason I have but one. That and I more than meet my quota of rejects. So I guess I will remain on thin ice.

Egg Sucking Weasel, I think my amazement was more from what was in the bowl rather than your outrageous puff rate. If I remember correctly it was that acid topped fire hose material, Plumcake!! If your tissue were cloned they could shield the space shuttle with it.
