Hello Everyone

I've smoked a pipe for about eight years now. My first briar pipe was a meerchaum-lined Grabow I purchased at Rite-Aid, and I've been hooked on them ever since.

I'm a big fan of burley and enjoy many of the "OTC" blends. My current favorite is Prince Albert Choice Blend.

Look forward to getting to know you all.

Hi Horton, welcome to DGCF.  Look forward to your posts.

Welcome Horton. I believe if you spend some time looking back into our past conversations here, you will find we are neither pretentious, nor elite. And we certainly could not defend either.

DG, after Samuel Colt, another great equalizer.

Thanks again for the warm welcome.

My favorite Grabow is a Regal bulldog I bought off Ebay for about 6 dollars.

Good choice, Horton, those are nice pipes.  Regals don't get the praise they deserve in my opinion.  Some of my best Virginia pipes are Regals.
Horton

I agree Steve. Grabows in general don't get the praise they deserve.

I looked at the Regals you have posted. What a great collection. My bulldog has a different style bit, but the bowls are almost identical.
steverino

Horton, which bit does yours have, saddle bit?
Horton

I am not sure of the correct name for the bit mine has. It's much like a tamper bit but is partly diamond shaped(about an half inch or so) like the skank.

Horton....Welcome to the Forum. We appreciate you being here.

Now, You have my curiosity up......If your Regal is a #80 Bulldog with a "taper" bit, it is to me a COLLECTORS ITEM......only to the degree that Grabow's are collectable......

Regal #80 taper probably hasn't been made since the late 60's. OS, and maybe me, will swap you some wonderful tobacco (with a number) along with his left "pinky finger" for it. Seriously, wonderful pipe. I'd love to see a picture..ted
