Hello Newbie Here

Good morning
My name is Dave

I have been smoking pipe since the late 60's early 70's

I try to collect a few pipes in my wanderings

I chanced onto this site trough another site and thought I would join the forum to enjoy more thoughtfull conversations
I do have a few Grabows and have enjoyed them for years

i am looking forward to reading everyones thoughts and learning more about Grabows
Sir Duke

Thanks for joining Dave.

Yes the discussions are very focused here, and very cerebral (exceptin for when I start postin drunk). I know little of histroy and seem bent on saving the future.

Your intro made me think.... whether you have a collection of Grabows or they just seem to be cluttering up, its all the same.

Enjoy it here.
Dave

Most of the Grabows I have have the blue Spade
Usually they are of a rare shape or configuration

Blue Spade! Another Tampon Smoker in the group! Sit down, Dave. Make yourself comfortable. Us Tampon Smokers have to stick together with all of these Aluminum Cleaners nearby.

Go For The Dux!

That's an interesting thought -- like throwing a V8 in a six cylinder car.

Now I will have to try it and see what it's like.  --RJ--

they do take as much if not more moisture out and the draw is easier with them

More tobacco flavor comes through at least it seems that way to me

Probally because they don't filter the tobacco, the balsa wood merely absorbs the excess moisture. I have found the same.

I'll bet charring balsa wood tastes better than charring cellophane and paper too.

So I guess Dr. Grabow out to come out with balsa filters, too!  --RJ--
