Hi Dr Grabow NewbieHi folks
I was introduced to ths site by a SF member. My name is Gig and I am from Australia. I only own one Dr Grabow pipe, a Duke inported briar which is small and i use for flakes and stronger tobaccos but i do like to read all things on pipe. I have quickly been through this site and find it very interesting. I hope to learn more about Dr Grabow pipes and obtain a few more pipes for my Dr Grabow rotation 
I have a question, can Medico filters be used in Dr Grabow pipes

I think drbridges prefer the medico. I just feel a certain loyalty to the company now International Pipes and Tobacco, owned by Jim Burns, also an Aussie.

Isn't that I prefer the Medico, but I can more easily acquire the Medico. My tobacconist sells Medico tampons, but not garbopons. I prefer to purchase them 120 at a time. Big Box retailers sell them 10 at a time. I cannot distinguish a difference between Medico and garbo tampons.
At one time they were made by the same soda straw company.

Hey Gig,I know for a fact that are Grabows "down under". A while back I bought an old car and to raise some money to buy parts for it I stupidly sold off a good many of my pipes!! Two lots totalling about 50 pipes-all Grabows- went to a gent In australia !! I have since sold the car!!!

OS "ya gotta do what ya gotta do." It is a bit of a shame though that you sold off 50 Grabows. "There in a good place now" Current Owner of Grabow (IP&A) is from Australia. 'Splains his funny accent ; ) A nice man. Gentleman in fact.
