If you've ever read DRB's "What not to do with your Dr. Grabow Thread," you know he'll be especialll off topic with this one. Here goes, one bourbon, one scotch, and one beer...

I just picked up a Duke from the local flea market and figured I'd clean her up a little before lighting up. We'll in doing so I dropped the @#@$er!

Happy that it didn't break or anything I figure ta hell with it, if it aint broke why fix it. I figured I'd fill er up with some Carter Hall and take a match to it. After the charring light, and the first couple puffs I noticed a real "off" flavor, like piss oak in the fire.

I pulled the stem out and it had a nasty ole filter in it that was nasty dirty. It was like the previous owner never cleaned the thing or even change the filter. Or it fell out of his pocket and into the hopper or some such nonsense.

My pipe smells like piss! What do you guys do to get the uriney smell out of your estates?

Try Odo-Ban. It's a liquid concentrate which comes in a gallon size. Just mix with water and swab inside and out.

Or get one of those biscuits they hang in urinals, chip some of it off, pack your bowl with some Mixture 79 and biscuit chips and smoke it.

I have a Golden Duke with the ajusto filter stem joint. The joint is siezed. How do I unstick it?

Fill the stem and shank with liquid Drano and let sit for 24 hours, then flush it. Wink

I have a bent Eldorado where the stem and all the whole ajustomatic hardware screws out of the shank. How to separate the stem from the hardware and get part A back into part B?

Heat aluminum pieces with Oxy-acetylene torch,let cool,repeat if needed. Drill shank,fill with JB Weld insert part. How do make Mixture 79 taste good in a beat up lark?

My dog has taken up pipe smoking, but with my pipes, and she doesn't clean them afterwards. She says she can't because she doesn't have a thumb.

Make your own cleaners out of bits of tin foil, and epoxy.

I slipped and fell face first yesterday while smoking my favorite canadian. I accidentally swallowed the bit in my fall. The ER doc says it is short enough it should pass in a day or two.

My question: After it passes, what should I use to polish and restore its original luster?

Best way I've found to replace a DG #19 is to go out & buy a new DG, and then send the old #19 to me.
