Last week of June!Today the 23 I was home sick. I on new meds that made work not so possible but I'll put it together come tommorow.
Plus its like the first day I've been pain free since I can remember. That is a GOOD DAY! I'm even thinking of carving a pipe this weekend!!!!
Anyway I smoked some of Dr. Bridges Fig Newton in a pipe a friend gifted to me yesterday. Don't know the name of it. It smoked like a freaking dream. Its HUGE. Thats why I loaded it up with the cubed Burley.
There were gohsts in that pipe. Couldn't pue my finger on it. Lakeland weeds maybe. Then it donned on me that I not familiar enough with "Fig Newton" to tell. Maybe the pipe smoked so well that I hadn't tasted certain nuances in the blend in the last two (and only) bowls!
Moral of the story: Shoud've stuffe 'er with Carter Hall. I also aquired some Grabiows from this great pipesmoker with a collection of over 2,000 highgrades. I could have come home with anything but spent the day sorting through his pipes looking for Grabows. Found a few (cant remember what) , got another Viking and about 4 bowls which is cool.
the find of the day for me was the Book: "The Perfect Pipe" and an LL Bean Pipe. I always wanted an LL Bean pipe, especiually since last yeasr one of their catalogs featured a man smoking a piupe in a trout stream with his son or grandson. Well, so Now I got one. ... Will never smoke it, but it looks good on the catalog.
Take care Gentleman!
Tom
ps got a new camera which my wife told me is coming "Out of my pipe budget" .... What a ridiculous thing to say we all know I have NO pipe budget !!!!

Happy to hear you're feeling better, Sir Duke. And that the Fig Newton has found a fan.
