Lets see your Grabow Grand Dukes

The only notes I have to share about Grabow Grand Duke line is that it was started in the timeframe mid 1950'0s to early 1960's and continues today and an old post from RJ on quality order based on retail pricing.  Grand Dukes were of lesser quality based on retail price.  Here is an old post I found from RJMcKay.  RJM post on retail pipe price list 1965 - 1967

"Now for the models shown in the "catalog".  Here they are with prices:  ~1965 - 1967 timeframe.

Eldorado - $10.00
Commodore - $7.95
Viscount - $5.95
Viscount rustic - $5.95
Starfire - $4.95
Starfire rustic - $4.95
Golden Duke - $4.95
Silver Duke - $3.95
Regal - $3.50
Viking Deluxe - $2.95
Royal Duke - $2.95
Crown Duke - $2.50
Savoy - $2.50
Grand Duke - $1.95
Riviera - $1.95
Lark - $1.50"

My experience is that most of the Grand Dukes I have or have had are VERY nice.  I have had a few that show excellent grain and no fills or other flaws.  I guess it goes to show that all Grabow pipes are quality smokes.

So Lets see your Grand Dukes

I'll go first:

Here's one I had in the past and used to show filters, etc., available for them. It's been passed on to someone else along the way ...

I have a 83  , I had a couple small Grand Dukes that I gave to a friend, G'Day

JoeMan

Clint, that 83 is nice.

I have just these 2...the small prince, and a #112 which was frazed to be a Hillcrest...this would be a leftover that Lane finished and stamped as G Duke, since Hillcrest was done.

Don't think I've seen a smooth G Duke 81!  Very nice.  I'll trade you 2 Larks for it.
