Making stem blanks.

I started making my own acrylic stem blanks out of 3/4 sheet acrylic. All done with my 10ER Shopsmith. (Except the button slot)

Nice, going into production?

Cool setup, I want to see how well they function. I've made several from acrylic pen blanks and they work very well.

Pen blanks being about $3-4 bucks a piece these cost me around $.78 a piece.

This is cast acrylic so it also machines much better than extruded pen blanks.

Not that's just neat. I don't have the tooling to cut the larger pieces.

I just used the table saw on my shopsmith.

I have a 62 inch band saw my stepson gave me, just haven't had time to get it all set up correctly. I think when I do, that will do what I want.

Actually a band saw with a rip fence will do better than a table saw. You can slow it down more.

Ed,
I had trouble just finding black, but I've got some feelers out on other colors. I will keep you posted.
