My "High Grade" pipesSince I have decided to stop working on pipes to sell on Ebag I have been working on some of my Grabows. These three came out so purty I just had to show 'em off. From the top there is aN Emperor,Starfire, and an Eldorado. The Starfire and Eldorado I just shined up,the Emperor I did the full tilt boogie on. Was rather dinged up so I sanded it and stained it Rosewood, which came out darker than the sample piece of briar that I first tried the Rosewood on. My favorite in this group is the Starfire-love the way the grain is contrasted. Some blithering idiot beat the Eldorado shank against an ash tray and dinged top of Shank all to hell-which is where the nomenclature is,can't remove ding with out getting into the nomenclature!!

I meant just cleaning 'em. With an advertisement like those pictures, I imagine we'd all use your services from time to time!

I've tried to get into that aspect also by stating in my Ebag listing that I would do restorations etc and doing a blog on it in my Auctiva store. No takers so far!

That's a beautiful job you did with those pipes. I assume you have a buffer to get a shine like that. (I'm gonna have to invest in a buffer.)

Yes I do use a buffer. Its a homemade job I put together.using a motor from a hot water heating system circ. motor. Bought an arbor online .Got another motor, but need to get another arbor for it. I can't imagine working on these pipes without one now!!
