New to me...mostly DG

Not all Grabows...but since most are...I'll post'em all here.  Most came from the factory tour last week.

A Saseini-made Wally Frank - a 2-dot author. Saseini, Weber, Charatan and others made pipes for WF.

Under that is a Sparta-made 81, stamped only as 'Imported Briar' with push vulcanite stem.  I think they used this rustication for some of the later Eldorados...if I'm not mistaken.  Each of these came as part of a lot.

A Sparta-made Alpha bent apple - snagged this last week at the factory tour.  Stem was trademarked, but no stamping...so the factory stamped it Alpha for me.

More factory finds last week...my first Big Pipe...a large blonde...and of all things in the back room...a Berwyck.  Who knows where that old relic was hiding all those years...

Speaking of relics hiding...another back room find.  A Grabow Tru-Grain 6075.  This must've been a transitional pipe...because while it's a Tru-Grain...all of which had permanent scoop stingers and fixed threads...this one was fit with ajustomatic parts! Look at the birds!

Oh...and this old Continental 20...which because it's a natural finish...they stamped it Emperor for me.  Razz  Razz  Razz

There was also NO spade in the Tru-Grain stem, so I added that.  Rolling Eyes  And I've also never seen one of the "older" Grabows (Deluxe, Supreme, Tru-Grain, etc) which has 'Aged Imported Briar" in cursive script as you see here.  I've only seen that on Royal & Crown Duke.  A unique pipe for sure.

OK...I'm done.

Yes John.  There are 3 pipes left in the back room.  One is a broken CDL and the other two are just stems.
Spadefan

Very very nice Joe
Troy_nov1965

Amazing a Tru-Grain was still floating around the factory.

Beautiful, Joe.

I was planning a stop in Sparta, next time I visit my son in Charlotte.

Looks like you got all the good stuff, though.

Wow ! Some great scores Joe !!  I love the rustication on that 81 and the Tr0Grain is really unique ! "Emperor" ain't to bad either ! Wasn't aware that Sasieni made pipes for Wally Frank.
Drifter-MT

Very nice indeed!   My favorite is the WF two-dot Author!  Love it!
Thelonious Monkfish

Next time I can't make the tour I'm sending Joe 50 bucks to shop for me, very nice haul.

Good lord what a great lineup!  Congrats!

Thanks boys...and just to be clear...the rusticated Sparta author and the Wally did not come from the factory....those came in other lots.  But I had'em ready to show at the same time, so just saving real estate here.  Wink

Good to hear. There may have been an old school, down south style beat down coming your way otherwise. Laughing
