Not a Tamper,it's my--

Pacifier !!  A gent I know told me about a friend of his who decided to quit smoking pipes after 40 odd years. Since he missed having a pipe in his mouth he just used a pipe stem as a sort of "pacifier".  Thought maybe it might help me when I finally get rid of my pipes and quit smoking so I made my own pacifier! Looks kinda like some of the tampers I've made.Just an acrylic stem and short piece of briar. I plugged the stem with epoxy and activated charcoal so it wouldn't collect dirt, pocket lint and saliva. It's about 3 1/2" long.

Hope it works for you, ED! Nice trick! During some of my smoke breaks for surgery and other such things I've found chewing on cinnamon sticks, or just carrying them in my mouth, has killed the urge to smoke.

Good luck with that Ed. When I was trying to cut down on my Copenhagen snuff consumption I found that finely ground coffee was a pretty fair substitute at times. Sometimes a placebo works even if its one you make up yourself!

Looks swell.  I had a co-worker years ago that chewed on the wood-tipped swisher sweets.

Always had a pack, never lit them up...  Was a cigar smoker for years.  When he quit, he still had one in his mouth all the time.
