Old Triangular Shank Grabow on eBayHere's a nice older example of a triangular shank Linkman's Dr. Grabow. I already have an example, so no one will get into a biddin g war with me over it. --RJ--

Another listing on eBay seems to have made of quite a bit of the information from this Forum, etc.:
"This is a Linkman’s Dr. Graybow DeLuxe
I believe it was made between 1940 & 1943
Markings: Left- “LINKMAN’S” over “Dr. Graybow”
Bottom- “PAT.NO” over 1896800
Right – “9710 DeLuxe”
Reseach on the web shows the 9710 started in 1937. The “LINKMAN’S” over Dr. Graybow is 1932 to 1940 (maybe as late as 1943). The shield emblem stamped on top and the propeller logo indicates 1943 – 1946 (maybe as early as 1940. So it was probably made between 1940 & 1943.
The Dr. Grabow pipe was only one of several pipe brands made at the Linkman plant on W. Fullerton Ave., Chicago, but they must have earned the public’s approval, because a 1937 Linkman publication shows sales of their Dr. Grabow pipes increased by approximately 8-fold in their first six years."
To bad the Internet research didn't help with the spelling of Grabow -- or perhaps the research also uncovered the discussion about all the different ways we've seen listers spelling it! --RJ--
