Olive wood poker I get to keep!

Hello fellow pipers, this is my attempt to go back to the wood that started it all for me as a pipe maker. For reference, I'm posting a picture of my first olive wood pipes.

Here's a bad picture of this poker I get to keep. Sorry about the quality but imgur does not seem to work anymore.

I had one of your early olive pokers ... it was a fine smoker but I let a nice old man talk me out of it and he claimed he will take it to the grave with him ... it was that good a looker and smoker!

Wow! Thanks!  Are you talking about the paneled Duke? I think that was #1.

Pipe makers rarely blast olive wood. I love it because you don't loose the nice swirling on it and you add interesting texture to it.

Nice work and I really dig that blasting also. Beautiful pipe.

Somewhere West of Lancaster off of 30, according to Google maps.

Been prepping work stuff all week for the trip. Now I have to get my personal stuff prepped so I can leave tomorrow, stop at the shop and load up the car and head North. I'll be there til Friday afternoon

It was a nice area and had some nice people. The weather got a little damp and chilly but I found a Goodwill, Dollar Tree and Walmart.. so I was set. Laughing

A couple of people commented on my accent... Shocked I said, "I don't know what y'all are talkin' 'bout. Whut accent?" And for some reason I was asked to say "again" over and over... Laughing
