Quick Update, DGCF Pipe & 2010 TourI faxed a letter to Rick Wooten the first of the week asking about the above subjects. Still haven't heard anything back, yet. As soon as I hear, I'll let you all know what's going on. I faxed the letter because I couldn't get the info@drgrabow.net e-mail address to work. The message kept coming back as undeliverable. Anybody else having this problem?Terry |

I haven't tried it lately that I know of, so can't say. I sent Rick a notice and link to the "tour" photos I have up, but haven't heard anything back from that. You might try: rick.wootenXXXinternationalpipes.com (Replace the "xxx" with "@" -- I do that to keep snoop programs from picking up email addresses. --RJ-- |

I was still asleep when i posted this morning. Yes, he liked them and had been sure all the employees knew where they were on the photo site. Never mentioned the free advertising, but expect he saw it. We only spoke for a few seconds at the golf course, so didn't get the full "take" Speaking of the photo site, You've been busy. I saw the 4 extra pictures of the old factory, and the 8 of your wonderful car. Also looked at many of the Alaska RR photos before we had to leave this morning. I'll finish all 1000 or so in a day or two......ted |

Thanks for that feedback. Mainly just wanted to make sure he got me email regarding the photo site, but also very glad to hear that he liked them. You can't please everyone of course, but that's a good start and the "reward" that makes it all very satisfying to me.

Well, I figure since he can't really actively "advertise" to the individual pipe smoker, this was one way to do it that he had nothing to do with and therefore he wouldn't be directly alienating his biggest customers. One could only hope the retailers might realize the popularity of pipe smoking and Dr. Grabow pipes is more than they were aware of, and with more pipes and better selection, their own business might increase considerably.
Yeah, Steve got me hooked on a neat thing here and I am overdosing!!! The main feature of the site will always be the Dr. Grabow photos, but what the heck -- I've always wanted to share my other photos with a much wider audience anyway. Believe me, I have THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS MORE! I am going to add some more Texas Railroad depots on there as I only have about half of what I have scanned and handy up there. Other than the more recent photos (digital age), I had already captioned the photos right on the photo, so there's not a lot of work there explaining what they are. I don't know what the limit is on posting photos, or how long they will stay up, but I guess I will eventually find out! Thanks again for the "report" TED! --RJ-- |
