Rehydrating tobacco with spirits.

Is there anyone here by chance that blends or rehydrates their tobacco  with spirits? I tried some Borkum Riff OTC tobacco and really enjoyed the whiskey flavor but could really care less about the rest of it. I really enjoy Sir Walter Raleigh Burley and was wondering if anyone has tried hydrating it with whiskey? I don't know if its all dry or the place where I buy mine just has old stock, but it's always very dry. Might as well be dust. Since I have no experience with blending or rehydrating I was wondering if I could possibly impart some of the whiskey flavor that Borkum Riff Whiskey has into some SWR.

So if anyone here has experience doing this, please, lend some pointers, thoughts or, opinions!

Thanks!

Don't know about rehydrating but wondered if you are buying SWR in the pouch or 14 oz. tin. Been my experience that the pouches are always dry. When I buy a tin I open it and leave the lid off a day or so !! I like it on the dry side! Why not experiment on a partial pouch with a few drops of your favorite spirits?

Yeah I buy it by the pouch. I cannot find the tins of it anywhere.

Well, I definitely need some help from someone who has done this before. I took some SWR and sprayed it with some whiskey then worked it around. I did this in a couple stages and then let the dampness air dry or evaporate out. It definitely moistened it up a bit and it burns slower, but the taste is very very faint. I wonder what I would have to do to really impart taste similar to Borkum Riff or other whiskey flavored tobaccos.

I wonder if I need to use more whiskey or let it cure longer. Perhaps even use a particular type of spirit. Google hasn't been much help.

Thanks for that!

I have found with experimenting that if you get the tobacco just wet enough that it will stick to you fingers, let it air dry/evaporate just like you would  a really wet tobacco, it works perfectly! As I mentioned I am a big fan of SWR and now it's even better! Blending with a spirit of your choice adds that little extra flavor that makes a good smoke a great smoke!

I used Crown Royal and it came out superb! I'm going to try some Jack Daniels next to see if it changes in flavor or comes out differently.

So, how'd it turn out?
EAM

I haven't finished with the last batch.  Smile  When I'm out of that I'll try the Jack. I'll post here how it turns out when I get to it.

I'm going to try some tonight on some old tobak and some Captain Morgan's Spiced rum.
