I like the one DG Royalton I have. The shank was cracked when I got it so I banded it with a band from a MM cob!. Can't answer your other question.

Do they use a different epoxy for lucite bits?
They are great people, Mike. Royalton is a great DG pipe. Send it back and let DG fix it. They will make it right. And keep us informed.

Son of a gun! The tampon sleeve on a new DUKE just separated from its ABS bit. And considering the knurls on it, I'll wager DG isn't using epoxy. Looks like a hot press fit.

Unless you don't like the lucite bits, they are great pipes and you should enjoy yours. Glad to hear they are taking care of the problem! Have no experience with either the problem or the repair service. --RJ--
