I have owned a couple of these and thought they smoked well, but they were just TOO BIG and bulky for me to use on a regular basis.

I like mine, but as LokoMac said, you have to have a large block of time devoted for a full bowl. My last clocked in at ~2.5 hrs.

I cain't remember who posted it but it went kinda like this:  "I asked the Sparta folks why Big Pipe didn't have a spade logo.  Told me 'cause they ain't Dr Grabows."
Question:  What are they then?  Or did I dream this?  haha

KK, You didn't dream it. Lane production from the late 90's from Sparta.
There is a looong story behind my answer... ted

Check out my post in Last Bowl Smoked and take a look at this DG FREE HAND I just refurbished and my comments about it. They may be the biggest DG bowls we'll see in the future - at least until they are all sold out and no more are made. They're a bargain for restoration if you're looking for a big bowl pipe and you can get new stems for them inexpensively from the factory. Dave

I've had one for about 5 years. Never had a bad smoke out of it.  That said, given the size, I tend to smoke only burley-based blends in it (usually and OTC).  I am moving somewhat away from large pipes these days, although who knows that could change most any time too! Ha!
