OZ, I'll give CH a try. I need to find it here. I'm on the hunt!
Dr, I have been a little hesitant to experiment further. Not sure why. I have tried about 6 different blends. I found one of those to be enjoyable. But, so far, I've been enjoying the crazy blend I accidently put together. My son doesn't care a whole lot for it though. Not quite enough taste punch for him. He likes more of the smokey flavor. I do too, but not to the same degree.
I explain it to him like this: When I smoked I was a Winston man (and Camels occasionally )while most of my friends were Marlborough (sp) or Old Gold guys.
Don't know where I'm going with all this ...

| Good 'ol PA in the Sparta-made ADVENTURER (#49 shape) that Ed gifted me. The pipe was so beautifully refinished by Ed that I almost couldn't bear to smoke it -- but I couldn't bear to NOT smoke it either and that urge took over! It not only looks beautiful, it performs flawlessly! Thanks again Ed! --RJ-- |

I am sure it is fine to flirt with blending your own. I don't do it, but I do have a tub where I dump things I didn't particularly care for and mix them together. It's always changing, but believe it or not, it makes for an interesting combination of tastes and most of the time, an enjoyable and pleasant smoke.

That's one of the things that has always bothered ME, and that is how each tobacco shop will give everything their own cute little names, whether it is blended in house or just bulk from a supplier. I guess they have their reasons, but it boils down to if they will actually tell you much about their "secret" blends. I haven't yet, but I am going to ask my local shop specifically whether anything they have is Lane's RPL-6. Presently I just order CB over the internet, realizing it is probably more expensive that way. --RJ-- |

Thought this was interesting. Wonder how old this is? I like the Dr. Grabow offer.
