Samuel Gawith Brown No. 4 in the Eldorado 84L.
And Ted, based on my experience, Half and Half is a little bit reminiscent of Edgeworth Ready Rubbed - not just like it, but it makes me think of ERR when I smoke it.

I like Velvet fine and it is one of my regulars, although I think it tries to be No. 79, but pulls it off much better. I like H&H, and it does remind one somewhat, of Edgeworth, but I think a bit "stronger" -- almost too strong for my tastes. I may use it as a replacement for Edgeworth, maybe mixing in a little more of something.
By the way, I was reading some vintage pipe smoking newsletters from about 1971 and some old codger lamented about how several tobacco brands had changed hands and the tobaccos weren't the same as they were. Oddly enough, one of his old favorites was Mixture No. 79, but he said since someone else was making it, they had RUINED IT! Maybe that explains it, even though that was almost forty years ago!
I did find some vintage EDGEWORTH RR in a can and took a chance on it. As old as it was, I was a bit skeptical, but when I broke the seal I found it more moist and of better quality than the current stuff I had been getting in the pasteboard type "cans"! --RJ--
