Oh yeah Emery, I forgot to mention - believe it or not, I always wanted to be a greenskeeper.  My dad played a lot of golf and I had two uncles who were club pros, but that's the closest I ever got to it.  Please enjoy it on my behalf.

That's a fine lookin' picture, Duke. From the backgound, I assume it wasn't taken recently.

Your cap looks fine, but wouldn't you rather be wearing this?

Welcome aboard.  Lots of expertise here.  Take advantage, and contribute your share.  My first wife is a native Oregonian, born in The Dalles, grew up in Bend.  Her father was a Sergeant with the Oregon Liquor Control Commission.  He had some great stories about enforcing the liquor laws in small Oregon communities.  I once made the mistake of saying "Ory-gon" within his earshot and listened to a half-hour lecture questioning my intelligence. Great country out there.  The marriage didn't last, but the memories of the place and the people still do.

Emery....Most Greenskeepers I know are golfers. Are you? Trust me, this is related to pipes...ted

Why yes I am! Played sporadacly for 8 yrs. 2-3x a week this summer and got my handicap down to a 9!Being 13 degrees out with snow called for this weekend-I'll bundle up and go smoke a pipe in the garage! EM

EMERY....Think you are the first (other than me) golfer on this forum. I have a pipe for you. Unfortunately it's in Carolina and I'm not. It is un-smoked, made in France in the 50's, and perfect for a Greenskeeper.

You'll have it by the time Spring comes to Oregon.
At your leisure, send me your address.....You'll love it......ted

Emery, The pipe is on the way. Only one stipulation. You gotta post a picture of it, or you with it. Enjoy it....ted

Emery...K-Falls, Ory-Gone must still be served by the Pony Express. I sent the golf pipe "priority" on the 19th.You should have had it on the 21st, or 23rd. Is it coming back? Thought I'd have heard from it by now. If it comes back, I'll try again......ted
