That "Bold Rebal" is a Medico.Should be Bold Rebel. I've had a couple of them. Painted pipes with wild paint jobs-hand painted.

Gotta really check out those seller descriptions! Sometimes I am totally baffled trying to figure out how a seller identifies something as a Dr. Grabow. Of course, sometimes it's the result of an errant cut and paste session on multiple listings, but other times they just seem to pull it out of the air.
Instead of ending up with a rare and unheard of line of Dr. Grabow pipe, one may end up with just another brand of pipe. Been there and done that -- and hate it because then I just end up with a bunch of junk to send off to TED and Ed! --RJ-- |

An interesting one I seen on eBay today was a Dr. Grabow rusticated COLOR Duke. By the photo, it was CARVED, but I saw no color other than stained briar . . . --RJ-- |

Perhaps so. Sometimes I am amused at how people might make connections -- like they once seen a COLOR DUKE and so think all Dukes are called that. Then again, maybe it is STAMPED Color Duke, which would make it unusual. I'm not a filter pipe man, so I wasn't going to take the time nor make the effort to follow up and find out! --RJ-- |

Tears me up how many don't even do the slightest bit of research before posting a pipe....I saw a VAN BOY on there last night. _________________ BWThomas |

That's the second go-around for that one -- I think it's the same one I mentioned in an earlier post. --RJ-- |

Maybe already suspecting something due to your suggestion, it doesn't look like the stem was flushed to that shank. --RJ--
