You told me the story....remember the Bull......If anyone deserves a new #36, it's you. If I get a bargain I may buy 3. You, me, and Gilly makes 3.

BW, I can only tell sizes accurately by having something to compare to.

This one looks like a #50s. But it could be #72s, #36s, #69s, or even #52s.

Sorry, I just can't get over it. I'm devoted to Grabow...ted

Did you notice it is labeled "Royal Duke (D)". Allthe pipes on this site have a letter designation. Anyone have a chart of that?   ...I like that pipe, I just might get me one.

BW.. I looked a bit closer at the Grabow's on this site and don't have a clue as to the letter designation. There were 2 bents that were the same size, same brand, and had 2 different letter designations....Duh!!!...ted

Wow, this place is great.  You guys are really helpful here.  Does anyone have a Dr. Grabow chart?  I'm sure I could point it out.

The reason I bought this Grand Duke was because it was the same shape as a Silver Duke my father had in his collection. It's not the really big Grabows, more of a standard straight billiard.

Must be the #36 like TED said, then -- LARGE billiard.

That it?  Don't really have a scan of a whole chart that is both big enough to see and small enough to post.  --RJ--

Here are the basic shapes as they existed on a retail sales type pamphlet circa 1960 that is basic enough to include in just two pictures.  In later years the shapes were expanded upon.  --RJ--

Bet RJ'll have one. He has 2 of everything.

Post the picture again, and I'll get one from the factory, if it's still available, provided you can't find it elsewhere....ted

Well, I thought we were talking about something along the BIG PIPE scale in looking at the picture and reading what was wanted.  Unless your TED, it's hard to tell the size of the pipe in pictures, or for that matter, even in the shape charts because the drawings aren't always exactly to scale in relation from one pipe to another.  The charts, for the most part, make the smaller pipes look as big, and sometimes BIGGER than the small ones!

Actually, I only have ONE actual #36 and it's the one I lost and found again and is badly weatherbeaten.  Reminded me that one of my next projects is to send OS a bunch of pipes and let him work his magic on my #36 for me in return.  I haven't forgotten, Ed!  Just need to get a good block of time to take care of it.

Anyway, TED has indentified the pipe and is working to solve the need.  Excellent!  I bet there are some pipes in those cases at the factory Gilly'd love to have, too!  --RJ--

No hurry Mac,when ever you get to it! If you want just send the pipe you need worked, worry about the rest later.

Gilly, If someone has one, I'll let you decide. You may get a better offer from OS, or RJ.

I'll check the forum tomorrow. If you haven't had any luck  by then, I'll pull the trigger. I'll buy one that I like....just in case I get to smoke it.....ted

I can't help you out with a 36 or anything else right now!! A certain person has bought everything I had for sale and got me digging through my junkers to satisfy his hunger for old Grabows!! Which I very much appreciate!
