I finally got around to ordering a Royalton 45 from the factory. I was watching (and bid) on an unsmoked Royalton on eBay, but didn't win it. The thing went for over $40. So I called the factory and now I have a smooth Royalton 45 on the way for about $10 less! I sent 3 bowls to be restemmed as well and can't wait to get them back. I'll be sure to post pictures of all of them when I get them in.

Congrats sir, I've picked up a couple of Royalton's on the last couple of tours. I'm sure you'll love it.

I'll just bet you are going to love that Royalton 45 Wes. I like the pot shape and the one I have is right at the top of my favorite pipe list.

Well... I'm not thrilled... I didn't get a pot. I got a billiard. If any of you want to trade a 45 Royalton for an unsmoked billiard let me know. I specified I wanted a pot but they sent a note back that they didn't have any. That's ok, if they don't have one, they don't have one.

More importantly this is what they sent back for my new stem on my Starfire 45...

How hard is it to sand this down and make the shank to stem transition flush? I have 3 pipes to do it on... all 3 just came back from Sparta looking like this. This is the worst one but none of them are flush. I've never tried sanding ABS so I'm curious if it's sandable like vulcanite.

Man, bummer, sorry none of that seemed to work out right. You sent the bowls to the factory and they came back like that? Ouch. Wrap electrical tape around the shank so you don't sand any off and work the stem down, it'll get you close but to really flush it nice you need to peel the tape and just be careful basically.

Yep. Sent 3 pipes to them and they either didn't fit them at all or fit them poorly.

I was mainly excited about the Royalton pot. I even called to see if they had one and was told if they didn't they'd make me one...
