Tried a bowl of Carter Hall for the first time.  I liked this one a lot, nice and smooth, good flavor.

Later I had a bowl of Paladin Black Cherry.  This one is interesting.  The bag smells like a cherry cough drop.  The smoke was interesting.  Maybe it's the smell, but this one just turns me off as something that seems like it's probably heavily chemically laden.  I'm not sure I'll revisit this one anytime soon.

It is almost easier to find the Holy Grail than it is to find a decent cherry blend. I gave up the search many years ago. But some guys here can make some recommendations.

Don't rush out to try Middleton's either. Or BR's.

I'll sit down and shut up now.

I think I found a good cherry.  It's at a local tobacco shop called "Custom Blends".  Here is the description:

Our most popular Cherry Blend. A blend of bright, red Virginia, and Black Cavendish tobaccos finished with an exclusive Cherry-Pineapple flavoring. Ordered by the ounce.

If anyone wants a small sample, I can send it to you and you can tell me what you think.

I don't mind the Altadis Cherry so much, as far as cherry blends go.  As far as "fruity" tobaccos go, I really like Devil's Dance.  I got this last summer and it's still one of the tops in my rotation.

Tried the cough syrup known as Paladin. At about the same time I tried CH for the first time too. The CH pouch was older than I was and very dry. I threw the two together and jarred the mix. A tolerable smoke now that I hardly ever reach for, but do now and again when I am too lazy to get up from my work bench where it sits!

Gotta remind myself to try CH again...

edit: Middleton's Cherry not doin' it for me either yet...

My local B&M sells a blend they call toasted cherry and another one sells one called wild cherry both of them are very nice with no cough syrup or overwhelming sweetness at all.

The Paladin Cherry is not for me either.  However, if one wants a really cherry--cherry blend, it is CG Cherry.  That one is, for me, so cherry, I have to cut it with say H&H and even like to add to that, a pinch of black twist.  Sort of...Twisted Cherry.

Ozark--found yet another use for Mixture 79:  If you mix it with a little water and flour, it makes a great Spackle.  Plus, you can crumble it on cupcakes for a delicious crunchy snack.
