In about 1980 we (at Mastercraft) offered all employees a weekend in New York. We paid for everything except for the plane. They had to pay their plane fare (about $50.00 ea.). George and Sandy, Mike and Libby, Judy and Roger, Teresa and Norma Jean. took the ride.
Teresa and Norma Jean had never flown. Joy sat a few rows in front of us. I sat with Teresa and Norma Jean.
As usual, I put UP the arm rest.  Teresa(next to me) grabbed my knee (as if it was the armrest) and as we got faster, her grip got tighter....... When we took off her grip was beyond belief.

Her nickname was Tracy... "Tracy, turn loose of my knee". She did Instantly..  Embarassed

We all stayed at the Palace ( Plaza. not certain) Hotel (UST owned the suite) near Columbus Circle. Saw "A Chorus Line" with Judy. ... Met Mr. Marx (Marxman Pipes) and had a BALL.

I had 10 tired "puppies" on the way back to NC..

NOT OUR LAST TRIP. Ask about a 50 mile trip (with lawn chairs) In the back of a 1982 Ford Econoline Van..  We would go..GO ..anywhere.
Question  Why would you'all guess that Mastercraft is SO IMPORTQANT to me. No-one ever had a better group of employees. ted

Great story Tom! Now tell us about the lawn chairs in the Econoline!
Did you put the arm rest down on the return flight?
What was your position at MC at that time?

Great story Tom, it sounds like the employees were a lot of fun. Thank you for telling us about the trip.

Now for those chairs in the Econoline...

Thanks for sharing Tom, I envy you and those times.  If I had know there was so much fun over there I'd have crossed the mountains.

Now about that Econoline.... Smile

EJ, At the time I was the VP of the Mastercraft Operations in Sparta, and didn't sit with Tracy on the flight back. She and Norma Jean were experienced fliers by then... Joy got my company..
