I found this pipe while Steve and I were looking through the Grabow "back room" a few years ago.
It was an Emperor #25, pristine, with a long briar shank.

I knocked it off my workbench last year and broke the shank. Explitives were said.
Carefully glued it back together...., but broke it again at the glue joint last week.
Threw both halves into the trash... but remembered that it might be OK, so I dug the halves out.
Took it to Grabow on Monday, and thanks to Gary Dixon, and of course Deb Osborne, it came back almost better than before.

There was 9/16 left on the shank. Gary added a 12/16  aluminum extension (#41 part) and made it very balanced, and still a joy to own, and maybe better than new.

$10.00 for Grabow.. I bought Gary's lunch for a few days...
Where else is this possible?  ted

That's a great story Tom. Thank you for sharing it with us. Very Happy

Hate to see a #25 get trashed.

What a beauty!  Now keep that pipe as far from the edge of your bench as possible.
